The Pharr Hub Phest, one of the most expected festivals throughout the Valley, was held on the last weekend of March, kicking off Friday March 30th, with the Margarita Showdown, being introduced for the first time in the Hub Phest. Restaurants and Bars from all around the Valley, such as Empire Lounge, Tequila Cava Don Anastacio, Tony Roma’s and Arturo’s Bar and Grill gave samples of their own Margarita creations, accompanied by music throughout the whole event and the special appearance of Pedro y su Mariachi at 11pm.

On Saturday March 31, Pharr’s Hub Phest brought together thousands of people, starting with an early cook-off, where teams from different businesses and associations represented by their members, worked hard to get first place in different categories such as Fajitas, Frijoles a la Charra, Pan de Campo, Pork Spare Ribs and Beef Ribs.

There was also different activities for kids and adults to have a fun and recreative evening. As for The Grand Finale, the performance of Katy Groves and Duelo made the Hub Phest 2012 one of the best festivals held in the Rio Grande Valley... So far. We can’t wait for Hub Phest 2013!
